FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What does QRRA do?

QRRA shows what a QR code wants to do before you act on it: open a link, join Wi-Fi, draft a message, start a payment, launch an app, or import an authenticator key. For links it can also give a server risk assessment. You decide what happens next.

QRRA shows no warning. Can I open the link?

That is your decision. QRRA does not guarantee that a QR code is safe. Server results are risk assessments, not absolute guarantees. Do not open a QR automatically just because no obvious warning was found.

What does “Could not verify this destination” mean?

We could not find out where the link leads. It is neither a finding of fraud nor a confirmation of safety. Open it only if you trust where it came from.

Does QRRA open links or pay on its own?

No. QRRA never opens, sends, imports, connects, or pays on its own. Review the target, then decide.

What is sent to the server?

URLs from QR codes, for risk analysis. The auto-submit setting decides whether a scanned URL is sent by itself. URLs found inside other content are sent only after you confirm. Other QR content, such as Wi-Fi, contacts, payments, or OTP setup, is previewed on your device. The privacy policy lists everything the app sends.

How long are submitted URLs kept?

Submitted URLs, their analysis results, processing logs, and the link to the per-app identifier are automatically deleted 90 days after submission. The identifier profile may be kept longer for rate limiting and abuse prevention. To request deletion, write to feedback@qrra.eu.

Who else can see a submitted URL?

During analysis the QRRA server may query third-party threat-intelligence and reputation services. The URL and information about the linked page may also be sent to third-party AI model providers. QRRA does not sell your data and does not use it for advertising.

Is QRRA an antivirus?

No. QRRA is not an antivirus, and it does not verify the real-world identity of a company behind a link. Local findings are not final malicious verdicts.

Where can I get the app?

Scanning and image-based QR review are coming in the mobile app. The Android app is coming soon and the App Store version is planned. This website does not analyze QR codes.

How do I report a wrong result or a security issue?

Report a wrong result to dispute@qrra.eu and a security issue to security@qrra.eu.
